CORYZA
Euphrasia officinalis Profuse acrid lachrymation, with profuse, bland coryza (reverse of All. c.).Profuse fluent coryza in morning with violent cough and abundant expectoration, < from exposure to warm south wind.Relations. Similar : to, Puls. in affections of the eyes; reverse of All. c. in lachrymation and coryza. Profuse acrid lachrymation and bland coryza; worse, evening. Hawking up of offensive mucus. The eyes water all the time. Discharge thick and excoriating (Mercur thin and acrid). Acrid lachrymation; bland coryza (Opposite: Cepa). Ptosis (Gels; Caust). Vomiting from hawking mucus. Nausea and bitterness after smoking. Menses painful; flow lasts only an hour or day; late, scanty, short. Amenorrhœa, with ophthalmia. Frequent yawning when walking in open air. Lac caninum Coryza, with discharge of thick, white mucus.Coryza; constant watery discharge from nose, excoriating nostrils and upper lip. Sore throat on right side, low down, and extending up to ear; pain when swallowing; sensitive to external pressure; slight coryza. Expectoration of profuse, sticky, tough, white mucus in masses, with coryza. Lac vaccinum defloratum During headache, coryza and an apparent tonsillitis. Lobelia inflata Excessive asthmatic breathing with stomach disorder (Nux-v, Bry, Ip, and Carb-v) after taking a cold, after exposed to cold air or after entering in the warm room after cold air. The more the person eats anything warm the more breathless he becomes. Breathlessness is worse in cold air or entering in the air conditioned room or just below the fan and breathlessness is accompanied by cough. More the breathless more the cough (Cuprum, Drosera, Phosphorus, and Ant-tart). Walking > the breathlessness but exertion makes the breathlessness worse. Any kind of exertion <; walking > (Drosera). If he lies down the breathlessness is worse but if he walks he feels much better in his breathlessness. Cough accompanied by eructations or some gastric complaints ( Nux-vom or Ipecac). Tubercular diathesis (Ars-iod, Corallium rubrum, Drosera, Kali-carb and Nitric-acid). Fastidious ; strong fear of respiratory disease (Lac-caninum).Gastric or bilious headache.Hearing has been affected due to chronic otitis media or after suppressed eczema. The paranasal sinuses are tender to touch, bitter taste in the mouth, sensation of lump in the throat , eructation are acrid, burning and sour , heartburn. Severe nausea with perspiration. Nausea in the evening or night with excessive perspiration. Vomiting while coughing. Pneumonia, bronchial asthma, bronchitis. Extremely chilly, sensitive to cold air, cold bathing. Loves sweets , warm food aggravates. Lyssinum Frequent sneezing, mostly early in morning or late in evening, as if a coryza would begin; also when looking at something bright, and from every little dust.Coryza, with tickling in roof of mouth and in front of nose (relieved by Phosphorus). Magnetis poli ambo The pains in the limbs soon decrease after waking; but in exchange for those pains he is attacked with a painful a headache, increased after rising to a headache such as is felt when a dry coryza is setting in, disappearing again by sudden sneezing and discharge of mucus from one nostril Sweat without heat, early in the morning while asleep, or mild copious exhalation of the whole body, which is not exhausting, and disappears after waking. Magnetis polus australis Coryza, and cough with expectoration of green mucus, and short breath. Medorrhinum Frontal headache; with nausea; feeling of a tight band across forehead, aggravated leaning head forward; as if front half of brain would come through forehead; as if skin was drawn tight; with fluent coryza, with pressure back of eyes, as if they would be forced out; extending over brain to neck. Heavy fluent coryza, with hard headache all day in frontal region, aggravated 10 : 30 A.M. Morbillinum Coryza. Nux vomica Catarrh : snuffles of infants (Am. c., Samb.); coryza, dry at night, fluent by day; < in warm room, > in cold air; from sitting in cold places, on stone steps. Pertussinum Coryza with hacking cough. Hacking cough; with coryza. Phosphorus Nausea from placing hands in warm water; sneezing and coryza from putting hands in water (Lac d.). Psorinum Loss of smell; with coryza. Dry coryza with stoppage of nose. Coryza at once, whenever she comes into the open air; then usually a stuffed coryza while in her room. Dry coryza and a stuffed nose often, or almost constantly, also sometimes with intermissions. Fluent coryza at the least taking of cold, therefore mostly in the inclement season and when it is wet. Fluent coryza, very often, or almost constantly, also in some cases uninterruptedly. Loss of taste with coryza. Obstinate constipation with coryza and obstruction of nose; pain in small of back; blood from rectum; due to torpor of rectum; lasting three of four days, due to inactivity of rectum; stool on third or fourth day was accompanied by severe pains which induced patient to withhold effort as much as possible. Sabadilla Sneezing in spasmodic paroxysms; followed by lachrymation; copious watery coryza; face hot and eyelids red and burning. Sambucus nigra Dry coryza of infants (sniffles); nose dry and completely obstructed, preventing breathing and nursing (Am. c., Nux). Selenium metallicum Coryza ending in diarrhoea. Senega Rales in the chest. Hot sweaty skin, face bloated , severe oppression of the chest, as if there is lot of weight on chest, cannot breath because of the weight or a heavy sensation on chest. Tired, exhausted , prostrated with anxiety. Cough constant, violent, strong sensitivity of the chest, hyperesthesia is more on side of the lung that is affected. Everytime when they cough they become quite hot, face becomes red, head covers with hot sweats. Person feels too hot and they want lot of fresh air and the moment the fresh air comes in contact with their body they start coughing more. Hoarseness. Cannot lie down (Apis, Lach, Mercury and Tabacum). The cough is worse in open air, it is loose, hacking and irritating, lying on any side aggravates the cough. Entering a warm room also aggravates the cough so they open the window to have a fresh air but when the fresh air comes in, the cough becomes much worse. The expectoration extremely difficult but whenever the person brings out the expectoration it is sticky and ropy; expectoration comes out to a certain extent and then slips back (Kali-sulph, Conium , Causticum). Syphilinum Attacks of fluent coryza. Tuberculinum avis Pulmonary congestion , breathlessness, loose rattling cough, high reparatory rate. Occasionally he can also become cyanotic. Asthmatic bronchitis, bronchial asthma, broncho pneumonia or pneumonitis. Excessive panting respiration or rattling but there is no expectoration (Lobelia inflata, Ant-tart, Digitalis, Ipecac, Senega). There can be cough this is extremely exhausting. Person coughs constantly till he gets completely exhausted (Ars-alb, Caust, and Stann). In the chest severe degree of rales or ronchi (Tuberculinum marmoreck, and Morgan pure). Past history or family history of tuberculosis or a history of primary complex in childhood. They are extremely restless, usually have problem with the ear - recurrent otitis media or catarrh of the eustachian tube. The nose obstructed; polyp inside the nose. Perspiration of the palms; desire fruits. Rattling respiration without much expectoration. Tuberculinum bovinum Coryza. Aching of ears and teeth with coryza in evening, with headache. Sneezing, burning, watery coryza. Fluent coryza. According to Vannier, tuberculinics present themselves under various aspects; 1st. the febrile (febrile without apparent reason); 2nd. persons subject to colds (persons who have cold after cold, and coryza after coryza during the winter); 3rd. dental patients (persons predisposed to tuberculous, said he, seem to make a rendezvous of the dentist's chair); 4th. constipated persons; 5th. cardiac patients (especially functional heart disease). X ray Feeling in head and nose as if coryza were about to commence, with some slight desire to sneeze. Disagreeable fulness of head all morning, with bland coryza and stoppage of nostrils. Feeling in head and nose as if coryza would set in, with slight desire to sneeze. Disagreeable fulness of head all morning, with bland coryza and stoppage of nostrils. Congested sensation in head and nose as before coryza. Flowing coryza with stoppage of nostrils and fullness in head, forenoon. |
